Consonant /ɹ/
/ɹ/ it's a quick version of the ɚ IT IS THE SAME SOUND. The tip of the tongue points towards the roof of the mouth, but does not touch it. The air flows through the middle of the tongue; the sides of the tongue rise up and touch the back teeth. The lips are rounded slightly. The vocal cords vibrate when producing the /ɹ/. It's 'voiced'. The most common writing patterns are 'r', 'rr', 'wr', 'rh'.
