/k/ it is a stop velar consonant. The back of the tongue stops the air that comes from the lungs completely on the soft palate. And a small explosion occurs when the obstruction is released. Vowels cords do not vibrate when producing /k/. It's 'not voiced'. The most common writing patterns are 'c', 'k', 'ck', 'cc','x', 'q', 'qu' y 'ch'. Although it has many exceptions.
