In English, not only vowels can form the core of the syllable. The which is actually the same as and like /l/, /n/ and /m/ can form the core of the syllable.



Listen to them carefully and try to say them as if you did not want to say the vocal sound you hear on the last syllable of: pedal, kitten and custom, change from consonant to consonant, d-l, t-n, t-m, it's enough; but in bird be sure to say only, there is no vowel there.
